Jeannie is a huge fan of Halloween and loves everything that is ghoulish. You can often find her reading or writing horror stories.

Hooray for Hollywood!

We don't all want to be ghouls and ghosts for Halloween. Some people are just not all about scaring people with a terrifying outfit. No, some people just want to be a fun celebrity. There's nothing wrong with that. Many fun celebrity Halloween costumes are out there. Why be a scary monster when you can be a Hollywood celebrity for a night?

While working on this hub, I have "weeded out" some celebrities I decided were not worthy to make this list. Yes, they might be exciting, and yes, they might have their own assortment of Halloween costumes on the market, but I wanted to include the best of Hollywood's celebrities on this list.

So for the reality stars out there, sorry. Don't worry. I've written about you in the past. For those interested in cartoon characters or superheroes, yes, there are hubs out there devoted to those costumes as well. This hub, however, is completely devoted to the best and the brightest stars we all know and love.

Marilyn Monroe

When you think Hollywood icon, surely you must think of Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe is one of those actresses everyone knows about. Even if you are not familiar with her movies, you are certainly familiar with her look. You might not even know she was an actress, but you probably know she sang Happy Birthday to President Kennedy. She was a legend.

For all the reasons listed above, Marilyn Monroe is a perfect celebrity for a Halloween costume. Most ladies enjoy looking sexy and beautiful (and some guys, too), and you can totally be bold like Marilyn Monroe for one night of the year. Why not be a blonde bombshell for Halloween? Get a white dress and a blonde wig, and go for it!

Elvis Presley

Elvis is still the king! So why not be the king of the Halloween party in an Elvis costume? Not only can you dress up in an Elvis suit, you can dress up your kid, your dog, and even your kid's dog like Elvis this Halloween. There are Elvis Halloween costumes that come in every shape and size out there. You could even have your entire family dress like Elvis. The King of Rock n Roll lives!

Michael Jackson

If you are going to have the King of Rock n Roll, you've got to have the King of Pop. Maybe you are not in the mood to dress like Elvis Presley, but perhaps you are in the mood to dress like Michael Jackson. We all miss Michael and who wouldn't want to see him walk through the door at a Halloween party?

Many Michael Jackson Halloween costumes are available in stores and online. While you get dressed up for Halloween, make sure to listen to Thriller. For that matter, if you really want to take your outfit to the next level, try dressing like Michael Jackson from the Thriller music video. You will be a real hit this Halloween if you take the time to learn the Thriller dance.

Lady Gaga

Love her or hate her, Lady Gaga is already a legend in the music industry. She is also a fascinating character. For the past couple of Halloweens, people have enjoyed dressing like Lady Gaga. I suspect this Halloween will not be any different.

While searching for Lady Gaga costumes online, I found so many it was impossible to include them all. Who can forget her famous frog dress or bathing suit outfit from Poker Face? There are so many Lady Gaga outfits to choose from, you will have a hard time deciding on one. I sure hope you intend to go to plenty of Halloween parties this year so you can wear more than one outfit. Then again, you can be like Lady Gaga and make costume changes throughout the night.

Madonna

Before Lady Gaga, there was Madonna. She was a major celebrity in the '80s and she continues to create controversy now. Madonna has gone through many changes in style, outfits, and even accents during the years. For every change, that just makes another great Halloween costume. If you still love Madonna or you just want to take a trip down memory lane, a Madonna outfit just might be the look for you. This year for Halloween, you can be the Material Girl for a night!

Lucille Ball

Who doesn't love Lucy? Let's face it, the world loves Lucille Ball. She was a fun, bubbly redhead and she was always getting into trouble on her show. Lucy was a blast and most people will agree - I Love Lucy! An entire nation watched her show and now, you can dress up in an I Love Lucy costume. It will be cute even if you aren't a natural redhead. After all, that is why they make wigs!

The End - Applause Time!

Now that we've seen some of the best celebrity Halloween costumes out there, it is time for you to decide who'd you like to be this Halloween. You might decide you want to be a celebrity, yet you don't want to dress like anyone on this list. That is perfectly normal. You can be creative and dress like a number of distinctive celebrities that do not have official outfits, such as James Dean, Prince, Willie Nelson, Burt Reynolds, Pamela Anderson, Elizabeth Taylor, etc. There are plenty of options and you can just use your imagine. So have fun this Halloween and make sure you look your Hollywood best on the "red carpet" at any event you attend.
