It's Time for a 1990s Comeback

It's time for a 1990s comeback! Yes, you know it is time. About ten years ago, people started throwing 80s parties and started wearing bright, happy 80s clothes again. Suddenly everywhere you went you could hear Madonna, Prince, and Cyndi Lauper again. At first, I was hesitant. I lived through the 80s and it wasn't all perfect. But the music was great and who doesn't enjoy feathering their hair, so I was on board.

I never thought the time would come when I would start to miss that grungy Seattle look, but lo and behold, I am there. I am actually starting to miss the 90s. I've been listening to Nirvana, Hole, Live, and Everclear more. I voted for Hillary Clinton in the primaries since I wanted to see another Clinton in the White House again. Yes, the time has come! Let's bring it on!

Yes, you heard me.  They are back.  MTV has decided to bring Beavis and Butt-Head back.  In my opinion, this is not a moment too soon.  I am dying to know their opinion on Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.  Sure, there may be some folks that don't think Beavis and Butt-Head will appeal to this generation, but I think they are wrong.  Beavis and Butt-Head still have so much to share with a whole new group of people. 

Guess whose been going through her closet and found a wicked awesome Hypercolor T-shirt? Yes, you guessed it! I found this and had to share.

Hypercolor shirts changed colors depending on the temperature. Of course, everyone got bored waiting around for their shirt to change color, so we found ways to change it. Who didn't enjoy breathing heavily on a shirt to make it turn the "hot" color and then grabbing an ice cube to put against the shirt to change it to the "cool" color? That created hours of fun! Well, probably really only minutes of fun, but you were a totally loser if you did not own one of these shirts.

So where are they now? Mine was sitting in a closet and no longer changing colors. Let's bring this style back! We have a whole new generation of kids that would love to experience of this. Not to mention, there are still some adults that aren't bored with it yet either.

I think it is time to start those 1990s parties now. Who wouldn't wanted to sport the straight hair and flat bangs look like the girls from 90210? Perhaps you want to look a little more rocker than that. Not a problem! Everyone has some flannel somewhere. Dig through that closet and you can look like you just stepped out of a coffee house in Seattle. Do you still have some old Nirvana or Pearl Jam t-shirts? Even better! Maybe the alternative rock scene was not your thing. No worries. You can break out those MC Hammer pants you never thought you'd wear again or maybe shave some stripes in your eyebrow like Vanilla Ice. The possibilities are unlimited!

The 90s was full of the Gen X crowd and toning down everything the 80s was all about. It was a time to care about the environment and really listen to the alternative music lyrics. I think if we really give it some thought, we are heading back in that direction again. Of course, I never want to see all the whininess again that the 1990s brought, but there were some great times, too. It is time for the 1990s comeback now!
